Dr. Bill Pippin has opened Marble City Dentistry and Facial Esthetics at 800 South Gay Street, suite P325, inside the First Horizon Plaza across from the Bijou Theatre. Dr. Pippin and one additional dentist are currently practicing in the downtown area.
Last September, Dr. Pippin announced his plans to open a downtown dental and esthetics practice, with plans to open in January. He realized those plans and has begun seeing patients. Check out the previous article (linked above) for more background information on Dr. Pippin and his career.
The downtown practice will be the second location he operates, with the other being Pippin Dental Care in Sevierville. Bill has had the Sevier County Practice for thirty-seven years, but he and his wife Laura (Esthetics Coordinator) bought a downtown condo about seven years ago for a weekend getaway spot. They committed to the city two years ago, selling their previous residence to live in downtown full time.
The couple soon began considering opening a downtown dental practice and began looking for spaces. When I wrote the the first article, Creative Structures had begun the build-out. With the construction finished, the practice was able to open on the projected timeline and began accepting patients early in January, even as they awaited furniture and finishes.
Keenly aware of the pandemic during which the practice is opening, Dr. Pippin had a Bipolar Ionization Air Filtration system installed, following best guidance for clearing the air of any viral particles. The entire staff has taken the complete vaccination regimen, wears masks and cleans all surfaces. Employee temperatures are taken each day.
Patients are not currently waiting in the waiting room, but are instructed to call when they arrive. After a prescreening on the phone, patients have their temperature taken before treatment. The couple feels strongly that the practice has proper safeguards against the spread of COVID-19. Dr. Pippen pointed out there has been no documented spread at dental practices.
The practice offers comprehensive dental care, such as check-ups, fillings, and cleanings. The equipment is state-of-the-art, including a cerec machine which constructs crowns in an hour-and-a-half, allowing same day (or visit) placement of crowns. They also offer 3-D imaging and digital x-ray.
In addition to traditional dental services, the practice also offers facial esthetic services. Botox and Xeomin, lip enhancement, facial fillers and PDO thread lift are among the services available.
For now, the practice is open Monday and Tuesday each week 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, though they plan to expand hours as demand grows. As with all services that open in the downtown area, it is important to support them if you are able in order to assure they remain and other services follow.
