Truc Thanh Ngoc Pham has opened The Nail Room on the 100 block of South Gay Street. It sits alongside a row of complementary businesses, including a hair salon, a lash salon, and a massage parlor. You can tend to nearly every part and feel relaxed about the whole matter all in one row of shops.
When I first wrote about Truc, and partner David Nguyen’s plans to open the business, they hoped to open last fall. However, regulations for nail salons changed while they were in their permitting phase, and they were required to re-design the space to allow ventilation at each station, which took additional time. David said the process of re-design and approvals took four months before they could move to construction.
The couple opened last Friday and they are excited to be a part of downtown. Business has been steady since they opened, and they are happy to finally be providing the services they enjoy. Their intention is to have a cool, modern environment where men or women feel comfortable getting a manicure or pedicure and, perhaps, enjoying a complimentary adult beverage.
The shop accepts reservations or walk-ins and offers discounts to a range of professionals, including teachers, nurses, members of the military, police, and UT students. You can make reservations here. The shop features extended hours to allow for after-work and evening appointments for any of the included services.
Closed on Monday, they are open 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and their web page. You can also reach them at (865) 247-2919.
