Calling all yogis near 5th Ave! Yoga Central, the newest yoga studio has opened its doors! Its location next to Xul Brewery and Knoxville High (now open to all ages) is just another sign of progress lighting up the area. Yoga Central just celebrated their grand opening and are ready to serve the community with a variety of classes to meet just about every person’s needs.
Geoff Yearack, president of RNC Technologies and entrepreneur, owns the business and has hired Rachel Harper as manager and instructor. I met with Rachel and got a tour of the attractive space that was once the home to CJ’s Closet.
The mission of Yoga Central is simple: “We are a friendly & welcoming community who are passionate about sparking discovery, communication & connection through the practices of yoga. We are committed to creating inner peace that is inclusive & respectful of a diverse community.”
Daniel Sepokas worked his creative magic to make the space feel welcoming. The white walls and soft accents in the space gave an airy, bright and soothing feel. Salt lamps and live plants are placed around the room while beautiful wall art by Kelsey Shae add to the beauty and peacefulness of the room. The art that is displayed around the studio will rotate on a regular basis to both enhance the space as well as promote local arts.
I was intrigued to see local products from Frog Juice Kombucha and Inner Space bolsters available for purchase as well as some Yoga Central swag! Rachel plans for other partnerships, like the one they recently had with Xul Beer Co. for Beer and Yoga, to collaborate with other local businesses.
Having around a dozen instructors, they offer a plethora of classes ranging from kid’s classes to hot yoga and offering a variety of times. Rachel feels it is important to allow each instructor to conduct their class in the way that fits their style the best. This supports their value of “giving you space to explore through the various aspects of yoga & then journey back with a newfound sense of self-connection & appreciation for yourself & others.”
You can visit their website to book the class that is right for you. You can follow them on social media here and here to stay up to date on new classes, opportunities and collaborations!
