I said I’d bring you the gingerbread houses from the Fantasy of Trees, and here they are. I think I enjoy them as much or more than the actual trees, though I think “Fantasy of Gingerbread Houses” doesn’t have quite the same ring. The skill level required to bring them to life ranges from a lot better than I’ll ever be up to professional.
They kind of fall near the end of the circuit if you start to your right like most people do inside the door. The trees are beautiful taken one at a time but, honestly, they start to run together after a few hundred, so a change of pace is pretty welcome. As we left the tree section, Urban Girl enjoyed riding the Carousel and the Mad Tea Cups or whatever they were called.
She also agreed to have her nails done up in Christmas style, made a handy holiday pot holder complete with her red hand print on a green background. Obviously, she had her face painted. It was the one thing she was clear about from the outset. She got a nice snowman on her cheek and, as a bonus, a red nose.
The gingerbread houses held her interest for about forty-five seconds. I was glad I dipped over to take photographs while she worked on her pot holder. Otherwise this post would have about three pictures. Some of the houses are simple and some are great, though I am more taken with the creations that go a bit further and create a small village or streetscape.
So, enjoy looking at them. There isn’t much more to say, since I know nothing about gingerbread houses beyond, “Wow, that’s cool.”
