It’s been a while since I detailed some of the happenings in the city. This weekend is First Friday along with Waynestock and some other events, so it seemed like a good time to put some things out there you might find interesting.

8:00 Music Therapy – Danny Gammon and Friends gather at the Time Warp Tea Room in Happy Holler for laid back music
7:00 – 1:00 AM – Waynestock – $5 gets in you in and goes to support Community School of the Arts, The performers include Black Atticus, Kevin Abernathy, Con Hunley with Mic Harrison and the High Score, The Rockwells, The Mutations and Yak Strangler. Each will play about a forty-five minute set at Relix Theater 1208 N. Central Street.
Saturday, February 2:

7:00 PM – 1:00 AM – Waynestock – $5 gets in you in and goes to support Community School of the Arts, The performers include Kukuly and the Gypsy Fuego, Dor L’ Dor, Johnny Astro and the Big Bang, Guy Marshall and Sam Quinn
8:00 – L.A.I.T.H. and Jack Rentfro and the Apocalypso Quartet at the Preservation Pub Speakeasy
That’s what I’ve got. I suppose Sunday is recovery day. I’m going to try to hit several of these events, but if you love music Waynestock is a must see. Search the sidebar for blogs about Waynestock from the previous two years. It’s a great way to get a sampling of several local bands in one easy smoke-free night (or two). I also plan to be at the 2:00 book reading at Union Avenue Books. Carole Borges is my friend and her story of growing up on a boat with a dream-stricken father is one of the most interesting growing-up stories I’ve ever heard. She’s been begged for many years by myself and others to get this story on paper. Come out and see her.
