This post will be short on words and long on pictures because the pictures really tell the story. The Hola Festival generally is one of the most colorful and happy events of the years in Knoxville, but the Parade of Nations represents the most colorful and happiest part of the Festival. All the various shades of fashion and culture in the Latin world parade through the route in succession, creating a fun, pride-filled event anticipated throughout the year.
The photographs here are more or less in order as they came in the parade. The one photograph which is clearly out of sequence is the one at the top of this post, which actually came last, but I liked it the best, so I placed it first in the blog post. Regrettably, I was not able to keep straight which country went with each of the participants, so some of the photographs will have to be labeled generically. I also did not get good photographs of everyone in the parade, so I only used the ones I thought were better.
That’s all I’ve got to say. Enjoy and join us next year if you missed it this year. You’ll be glad you did.
