The Downtown Knoxville Week Ahead (8/17-8/23/2014)

If you see an event I’ve missed and you’d like to plug, please comment below or e-mail me (knoxvilleurbanguy@gmail.com) and I’ll try to add it. The list may, accordingly, be expanded through the week. Staying true to the scope of the blog, I’ll only list downtown or near-downtown events. Any number of venues outside of downtown have some great events, but I have to draw a line somewhere. If you want to add those in a comment, that’s fine. Please : “Friend” me on Facebook and invite me to your events. Look over to the right of this post and not only “friend” me, but “like” Inside of Knoxville. Subscribe (also to the right) to make sure you catch all the posts.

Bonus Listing from next Sunday: City People reunite at James White Fort, Sunday Aug. 24thfor a potluck-picnic at 5 p.m.  For important details, check out the event page at the City People Webpage or their Facebook page. RSVP requested.

  1. Just John says:

Thursday August 21, the City of Knoxville will host a public meeting and design charrette for the former Treble Clef park, 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the Emporium Center (100 S. Gay Street). That is an important site–linking the 100 Block and more northerly bits to the rest of South Gay Street–and the eventual plan will benefit from residents’ input.

  2. Do you know if/when City People will have their home tour this Fall? I’ve checked on line but can’t find a date for 2014. Thanks.
