Mardi Growl 2014, Part 1

OK, here’s the deal. I was finally able to attend Mardi Growl. Usually I have a conflict with work on this day each year, but it worked out this time. What did I learn? I’ll give you the top five things:

1. If the weather is good, Knoxvillians can assemble over one million dogs on a given day.

 

2. It’s not a good idea to take a new camera on a doggie shoot.

3. Dogs move. A lot.

4. It’s tempting to take 300 pictures (I did).

5. It’s extremely time consuming to sort through them and find the keepers.

I’ve sorted until it is now after 1:00 AM on Monday morning. I have to get up to go to work at 5:15 AM. I’ve narrowed it from 300 to 100 and it should be narrowed more, but I need my four hours sleep, so I’m giving you half of what I have today and I’ll give you half tomorrow. Yes, you will see photographs that should have been eliminated. Yes, you will likely see some of the dogs twice. You will rise above these difficulties. If I don’t get four hours sleep I may not rise at all.
