In lieu of today’s regularly scheduled programming, we’re issuing a gentle but fur-m civic reminder: It’s Election Day in Knox County!
Today’s story is democracy. The cat meme is merely here to lure you in, as cats have lured humans into doing their bidding since the dawn of civilization.
Perhaps you early voted (good kitteh can haz leetle treat). If not, there’s still time to get your civic litter box in order. Visit KnoxVotes.org for all the info. Quick links:
- WHEN? Polls are open countywide from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- WHERE? On Election Day, you must vote in your precinct. Type in your home address HERE to find your poll location. As a backup (I’ve found that search a bit finicky), type in your address HERE and click on the little paper icons in the popup.
- WHAT? On the ballot are state and federal primaries, the Knox County general election and the Town of Farragut municipal election.

- WHY? Voting may not be as immediately gratifying as knocking a full glass of water off a countertop, but it does help determine who makes decisions about your schools, roads, taxes, public safety, development and other matters that affect your everyday life.
